The 2012 Canada Wide Science Fair was held at the University of Prince Edward Island from May 12 to 19. This was the first year in the fair’s 50 year history that the event was hosted on Prince Edward Island. As the largest science fair in the country, the Canada Wide Science Fair featured more than 500 young scientists in grades 7 to 12 selected from more than 100 regional fairs across Canada. Students competed for medals, cash prizes and scholarships valued at almost $1 million.
