Is chocolate a super food?

If you needed a scientific justification for eating chocolate – here it is. Researchers in Canada decided to test the brain-boosting potency of a flavonoid thought to be key in chocolate’s alleged health benefits. The scientists — who started out skeptical — found the flavonoid helped snails remember a simple activity in lab experiments. It’s unclear if chocolate has the same effect in humans but it does add to a growing body of evidence that chocolate — especially dark chocolate — may be considered a super food.
